Friday the 13th of December will be Christmas jumper day and everyone is invited to wear a school jumper or festive outfit if they wish.

A donation towards the Highland Hospice would be very welcome. Any money donated will go solely to the Highland Hospice for this specific event.

On Friday 13th December we will be having our Christmas Lunch. The only lunch option that day will be Christmas lunch so if your child does NOT want that for lunch then please ensure they bring a packed lunch.

They will join their classmates as usual in the hall and eat their lunch altogether regardless of if they’re having school dinner or packed lunch.

Your child took home their learning record today for you to look through together. Within their learning record is their key assessment task for their completed block of learning.

If you could please look at the key assessment task together and fill in the ‘Parent Voice’ section and return it to school on Monday. These jotters are used regularly throughout the school week so it is very important that they are returned so we can continue to document your child’s learning.

We have been celebrating success in P3A in many ways recently. We had a celebration assembly last week where one child from our class was selected for their very hard work and for always being ready, respectful and safe. Well done! We also counted up all of our table points and the winning table got to have hot chocolate and marshmallows with the teacher.

We had fun with our house groups making the Christmas friezes that are now displayed in the gym hall. We have some excellent artists in our school!

We had lots of fun today learning about the phases of the moon using Oreo biscuits to create the different moon phases. They were absolutely delicious and really helped us to remember the different phases. Have a look at the moon tonight – which one is it?

Please don’t forget – tomorrow we have our house morning and MOL’s first ever Dress Down for Chocolate Day!

To support the Parent Council Christmas Fayre we are asking that each child brings a small donation of chocolate or sweets for the tombola at the fayre this Saturday.

Funds from Parent Council organised events such as the Christmas Fayre go towards supporting every child at the school in many different ways throughout the year, including at this time of year the Christmas parties for all pupils and gifts for children from nursery-P2.

House captains are busy organising tomorrow’s house morning and pupils can come to school in their own non-uniform clothes and wearing their house colours if they choose.

MOL Panto – Bah Humbug!

As we draw closer to December we wanted to let everyone know about our brilliant MOL pantomime – Bah Humbug! This is a fun-filled adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic ‘A Christmas Carol’.

The primary 6 and primary 7 pupils and teachers are working hard rehearsing and preparing for this panto and are excited to perform for the whole school community! In previous years, the tickets have been available for families of pupils performing in the show however this year, although it is only P6 and P7 pupils involved we are opening up the show to the whole school and wider community. Great news – anyone can buy a ticket and come along!

A letter about tickets will go home with pupils on Monday and can then be ordered during next week. As in previous years, tickets will be sold on a ‘first come first served’ basis, so make sure you don’t miss out!

The pantomime performances are as follows:

• Monday 9th December 6.30pm (Doors open 6pm)
• Tuesday 10th December 1.30pm (Doors open 1pm)
• Wednesday 11th December 6.30pm (Doors open 6pm)

Thank you for those of you that were able to attend our Story Safari today. We hope you enjoyed it! Your child has now been gifted their free bookbug bag and we hope you enjoy exploring these together.

Thanks again to those of you that kindly donated baking and biscuits. They were enjoyed by all!

A reminder that our Story Safari will be happening this Thursday. P3 parents are invited into school at 9:15am to read and explore our Story Safari with their child. There will be coffee, cake and refreshments.
